An Unforgettable Encounter With Local Marine Life
EVERYONE’S A KID AT AQUARIUM OF THE BAY!
Everyone gets up close and personal with bat rays, river otters, and Bay Lab programs!
Aquarium of the Bay at PIER 39 boasts 300 feet of crystal clear acrylic tunnels holding 700,000 gallons of carefully maintained Bay water that surrounds you with approximately 20,000 animals who live in the Bay and nearby waters, from octopuses to eight-foot sevengill sharks. Guests are also treated to mesmerizing walls of jellies, Tahoe and his River otter buddies, and a chance to have hands-on encounters with leopard sharks, bat rays, skates, and other “splash zone” animals.
Aquarium of the Bay is a Smithsonian Affiliate and accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. As part of Bay.Org, our mission is to protect, restore and inspire the conservation of San Francisco Bay and its watershed, from the Sierra to the sea.
